Metered street parking is available in Chapel Hill. There are some pay lots (one is across the street). If you like free parking, there is a parking deck attached to the Hampton Inn in Carrboro that is a free municipal lot.

Our online booking was recently updated with improvements! Service descriptions, service times and prices are more transparent making choosing your appointment easier. Also, you can add yourself to our waitlist. And as always, if you have trouble or questions, call the shop 919-942-7616. We are always happy to help.
The online booking is limited to 90 days in the future. If you can't find a time with your preferred stylists you can add yourself to the waitlist, book with another stylists, or call the shop with questions.
If you need to cancel reschedule your appointment, we would like as much notice as possible. Please call the shop or reschedule online. If you have to cancel, we request at least 24 hours notice. Appointents cancelled without adequate notice may be charged up to 50% of the service. Missed appointments (no-shows) with no courtesy of notice will be charged 50% of the service.
An appointment check-in text is usually sent 15 minutes before your appointment. Life happens. Or maybe your can't find parking. But time keeps moving. Please call the shop to let us know. If you miss more than ten minutes or a third of your appointment, we will have to reschedule your appointment or truncate your services.
If the kids aren't receiving a service, we'd prefer that they stay at home. Our waiting area is not large enough to accomodate lots of people and can be very boring for wee kids. Keep in mind that some people are here to escape their own children and enjoy refuge from the world.
Yes. Haircuts for kids often take as long as adult hair cuts so there is no discounted rate. Some stylists will provide discounted haircuts for the kids of their regular clients - just ask your stylist the next time you are in for a haircut or color.
Cash is king. Venmo is alright with most of our stylists. And, yes credit cards work too. We utilize a service called Tippy. Your tips are added to your ticket and Tippy immediately deposits the money to your stylist's account.

Sometimes that one hair does something different at home than in the salon. We are happy to see you again and tweak or adjust your haircut. If something else went wrong during your visit at Syd's (and/or you would rather not see the stylist who did your hair) please reach out to the owners to give us the opportunity to make it right. We appreciate your business and your input.
