Metered street parking is available in Chapel Hill. There are some pay lots (one is across the street). If you like free parking, there is a parking deck attached to the Hampton Inn in Carrboro that is a free municipal lot.

If you are new to Syd's, we prefer that you create an account profile online first. From there you can either use online booking or call the shop to make an appointment. There are services for new clients that bulid in extra time to consult with you about your hair. Our styilsts appreciate having that extra time for new clients OR existing clients looking to make a change.

The online booking screen and the screen that our reception team sees are the same. If nothing shows up as available, your stylist is fully booked or has that day off. Also, some stylists have limited how far ahead into the future you can book appointments. There are a few options: book with an available stylist or call the shop and ask to be put on the waitlist. For stylists who have marked off their future books, an email will be sent out as months are opened up and become available.

If you need to cancel reschedule your appointment, we would like as much notice as possible. Please call the shop or reschedule online. If you have to cancel, we request at least 24 hours notice. Appointents cancelled without adequate notice may be charged up to 50% of the service. Missed appointments (no-shows) with no courtesy of notice will be charged 50% of the service.

An appointment check-in text is usually sent 15 minutes before your appointment. Life happens. Or maybe your can't find parking. But time keeps moving. Please call the shop to let us know. If you miss more than ten minutes or a third of your appointment, we will have to reschedule your appointment or truncate your services.

If the kids aren't receiving a service, we'd prefer that they stay at home. Our waiting area is not large enough to accomodate lots of people and can be very boring for wee kids. Keep in mind that some people are here to escape their own children and enjoy refuge from the world.

There is a Kids Cuts service, for families/parents who are Syd's clients and have kids under 10. This is a dry cut performed on kids who come in with clean, untangled and unmatted hair. Kids over ten should be booked from our regular menu based on the length of their hair. Many young folk have more hair than adults and require as much (if not more) time so there is no discounted price on services for kids over 10.

Cash is king. Venmo is alright with most of our stylists. And, yes credit cards work too. We utilize a service called Tippy. Your tips are added to your ticket and Tippy immediately deposits the money to your stylist's account.

Sometimes that one hair does something different at home than in the salon. We are happy to see you again and tweak or adjust your haircut. If something else went wrong during your visit at Syd's (and/or you would rather not see the stylist who did your hair) please reach out to the owners to give us the opportunity to make it right. We appreciate your business and your input.
